Safety & Certifications
Safety is not just a protocol โ it is the foundation of everything we do. Every show we deliver is planned, executed, and reviewed with the highest standards in the industry.
Cyprus Explosives Authority
Cyfireworks holds a valid licence issued by the Cyprus Explosives Authority, permitting the storage, handling, and detonation of professional-grade pyrotechnic products.
EU Pyrotechnics Directive 2013/29/EU
All products we use are compliant with the European Pyrotechnics Directive, ensuring every shell, mine, and effect meets strict EU safety standards.
Public Liability Insurance
We carry comprehensive public liability insurance covering all our events, giving clients and venues complete peace of mind.
Licensed Pyrotechnicians
Every member of our operational team holds a recognised pyrotechnician licence. Ongoing training is mandatory for all team members regardless of experience.
Risk Assessments
A full site-specific risk assessment is carried out for every event. We work closely with venue operators and local authorities to ensure all requirements are met.
Environmental Responsibility
We use low-debris, low-smoke products wherever possible and conduct full post-show debris clearance at every event to minimise environmental impact.
Our Safety Process
Before any event, our team conducts a thorough pre-show survey of the venue. We assess wind direction, proximity to structures, audience safety zones, and fallout areas. All displays are designed with a minimum safe distance that exceeds regulatory minimums.
On the day of your event, our pyrotechnicians arrive well in advance to set up and test all equipment. Communication with venue security and emergency services is established where required. During the show, a dedicated safety officer monitors the display in real time.
Legal Framework
We operate under the following legislation and directives:
- Republic of Cyprus โ Explosives Law (Cap. 54)
- EU Directive 2013/29/EU on Pyrotechnic Articles
- EU Directive 2014/28/EU on Explosives for Civil Uses
- Cyprus Police Regulations on Public Events
- REACH Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 on chemical safety
Reporting & Incident Management
In the unlikely event of any incident, we have a clear incident management protocol in place. All incidents, however minor, are documented and reviewed by our safety team to continuously improve our procedures. We cooperate fully with all relevant authorities.
